Now this is kind of interesting
I never realized it before, but the original Playstation controller owes a lot to the design of the SNES controller. Likewise, the Xbox is modelled more on the Dreamcast than anything else. I found all this out from the console controller family tree.

If anything else, it's interesting just from a video game history point of view, and it's neat to see how some controllers were clearly inspired from others, and the various dynasties of controller design (Nintendo, Sega, Sony...).  ¶ 7:46 p.m.
