Goddamn Shockwave!
I had a good chunk of this post written up, and I was testing links, and the Shockwave installer KILLED FIREFOX! DAMMIT!
/me is pissed.
Anyways, what I was talking about before I was so rudely interrupted, was that
Weebl's Stuff has been added to my comics index. This guy is the best
flash cartoonist evar. At the very least, you owe it to yourself to click the 'evar' link, since it has the coolest lions and tigers ever made. They dance, and they're only available in Kenya! Second, I put up a link to Thrice's site. They're kind of a punk-ish band, but they're not the crappy degenerative punk that a bunch of people I know of listen to. Come to think of it, I don't even know if they count as real punk, but I do know they're good, and
The Artist in the Ambulance is a rather good album.
While I'm on the subject of things I'm liking at the moment, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is just plain hilarious. It's about a team of (seriously) fast food that "fights" crime. I put fight in quotes because they don't really, they just say they do. You've got Shake (milkshake), Frylock (a box of fries, and the only one with a lick of sense) and Meatwad (meatball with a removable brain). They live next to their neighbour Carl, who is the biggest loser ever. Hilarity ensues, especially if you like really random things happening and people being cruel, ala South Park. I have a few episodes on my PC if there are any takers. I'm also in the midst of starting Jak 2, now that my wonderful love affair with ICO is over. To quote Gabe from PA (I tend to agree with these guys a lot), "way to do a sequel, Naughty Dog." The first Jak and Daxter was like Crash Bandicoot, with all the happiness that entails. The sequel is like Grand Theft Auto meets Crash Bandicoot, and is rocking hardcore so far. I'll talk more when I'm done.
Oh, and for props to another game, play Risk 2025. It is "teh awesome" and is definitely the tabletop wargame of choice in my books. Basic Risk with only a few extra concepts to toss around, but about a gajillion times as fun. Once I can afford a copy, it is so mine.
Behold!
I wish I had thought of naming a shop that.
And again!
From Wired News, the
cool things one can do with Photoshop. I think it would be really neat for it to be your job to make these things. It might get old pretty quick though, and I'm not sure it would pay that well.
Children of all ages, surely this is a
familiar scene. I totally empathize, and as such, I point you with a hopeful heart over
here. Their main focus is on movies and on parodying
this site, but it's still quite funny and informative.
Cool beyond words. Another one of those super-cool things that I would like, but will likely never get.
Because this post isn't long enough
So my phone interview went not to shabbily this afternoon. It was kind of odd being on the phone and all, but I can see the obvious benefits such as not having to be all dressed up and not having to leave one's desk and such. On the one hand, I kind of hope that I get the job, since working in the private sector would probably be good for me, but on the other hand, I really don't want to go all the way to Nepean for work. To illustrate, I wake up
here, and would have to get to
here. You might have to scroll around to get an idea of how far this is, but it's at least an hour by bus if I get a good route. I may still have the option of staying with the government though, so we'll see.
I can't think of anything else, but I did find some red pears at Loblaws the other day. First blood oranges, now red pears... what crazy fruit will Crowe find next?
